Pro:Direct tennis social AR season launch
To launch the new season, Pro:Direct Tennis partnered with Playbound to create two social-first AR experiences. Built for Instagram and activated at the Eastbourne International, the filters blended personality quizzes with live tournament hype to drive engagement on and off court.

Pro:Direct wanted to tap into the popularity of personality-style quizzes while showcasing their extensive racket range in a way that felt useful, not salesy. At the same time, they needed a pop-up activation that would energise the Eastbourne tournament crowd and extend beyond the venue through social sharing. The experience had to build brand affinity, spark UGC and position Pro:Direct as both expert and approachable within the tennis community.
The Solution
Playbound developed two bespoke Instagram AR filters. The “Perfect Racket” quiz used head tilts to answer a mix of technical and playful lifestyle questions, recommending an ideal racket based on user responses. Alongside this, a tournament prediction filter allowed fans to forecast match winners and choose a champion in bracket-style format. Both effects were fast, intuitive and designed for repeat play. Activated live at Eastbourne and amplified by influencers, the experience generated authentic content in real time while driving wider reach across social feeds.
